Rosacea, a skin condition that causes the skin to appear red and inflamed, is usually presented around the nose and cheeks. It is often mistaken for other skin conditions, but can be treated and managed if diagnosed properly. Kind Health Group in Encinitas, CA utilizes many advanced solutions, including laser therapy, to lighten skin and decrease the symptoms of this chronic disease. Rosacea can occur to almost anyone, but it's prevalent among middle-aged older women with fair skin. This is a skin condition with no true cure, but it can be managed. If left untreated, it can worsen over time, causing symptoms to return and flare up for days or weeks. Our MedSpa team will examine your skin for rosacea and develop a customized treatment plan to keep the symptoms at a minimum.
"This place is tucked away just off the 5 and Santa Fe drive. The atmosphere when entering falls more on the side of medical office than med spa; it emotes a well decorated, clean, cozy, professional, vibe. Refreshments and snacks are available while you wait, and staff is friendly. Definitely a boutique medical office experience. I was extremely happy with the level of care and attention I received from front desk staff and medical staff alike. I received some cosmetic services that were easily, knowledgeably, and well administered, and will definitely be returning. The prices alarr competitive, reasonable, and appropriate. I was so happy with my results, and the entire experience!"- H.A. / Yelp / Jul 10, 2019

"I have been going two kind health for a year and the person I see is Annie. She is a health coach I came in for sculpting and Doctor Nana said I think that you need something different and she recommended Annie and I have been so thoroughly thrilled in the 12-month I changed my habits I have reduced my weight from 194 to 157 today. She helped me to look at things differently and I'm still working on myself and I'm doing other things but she gave me the guidance that kind of got my brain clicked in to take better care of myself I'm very proud of her and she is a very patient person and she did not push me. And in May I just had my 75th birthday and for me to change like this at this time in life is not quite a miracle but maybe just short of one. I do give a lot of the credit to Annie for her help so if you want somebody to be your health coach about things that are not necessarily exactly Medical but please call in and go by and see them it's a really fabulous office just like other people have reviewed the front desk staff it's nice and clean and presentable and very soothing that helps the process from the minute you walk through the door. Karen gives great big kudos to everyone there and especially thanks Annie"- K.E. / Yelp / Jun 20, 2019
"I LOVE this place! Nirvana...from the front desk people who were SO helpful, without one ounce of pretentiousness, to my practitioner, who I have been going to for YEARS, April Demaggio. Dr. April is a magician when it comes to making you look good and the icing on the cake is that she ya kind, realistic, and will explain your options and best way forward based on what you can afford. She is not trying to "rob you" but truly cares about you, which is why I drive an hour to see her. You can't go wrong with this place...I am thrilled!"- V.D. / Yelp / May 20, 2019
While the precise cause of rosacea is unknown, we believe that it's caused by a combination of hereditary and environmental elements. People of Celtic or Scandinavian ancestry seem to have a higher incidence of rosacea. Patients usually have other family members who suffer from rosacea or severe acne. People who are prone to have bad acne have a higher risk of developing rosacea. Scientists believe that immune system overreactions can cause rosacea, especially when the immune system overreacts to a specific bacterium or a mite. These theories, however, haven't been demonstrated to be entirely validated.
There are a high number of factors that could aggravate rosacea since they increase the blood flow to the surface of the skin. These can include alcohol, spicy foods, hot beverages, sun exposure, extreme temperatures, hot baths or showers, stress, embarrassment or anger, strenuous exercise, and certain medications.
Indicators of rosacea can vary from mild to severe. The most obvious sign of rosacea is redness of the face. In most patients, the central portion of the face is noticeably red. The blood vessels of the nose and cheeks can swell and become visible. Other symptoms include red and swollen bumps on the face that look similar to acne. Sometimes the bumps are pus-filled. The skin can also feel hot and tender to the touch. Roughly half of rosacea sufferers have eye problems, such as dry eye, irritation, and reddened, swollen eyelids. In rare situations, a patient's nose will probably appear enlarged because rosacea can cause the skin around the nose to thicken, which results in a bulbous appearance.
Even though there is no cure for rosacea, there are a number of treatment choices available, such as antibiotics that help with inflammation. You can use the medication in a pill form or as a cream, lotion, or gel. Pills tend to be more effective in the short term but can create more side effects. If antibiotics aren't effective, acne drugs such as isotretinoin have proven to work for some patients. Surgery might be needed in circumstances where the symptoms become permanent, such as enlarged blood vessels or discoloration that won't subside with other remedies. Laser surgery or electrosurgery can be utilized to reduce the appearance of blood vessels and remove excessive tissue buildup around the nose.
