IPL for Sun Damage & Redness

The sun is responsible for much of what many people assume is normal aging: wrinkles, sagging, discoloration, and dullness. If you have any doubts, look at the back of your hand and compare it an area that does not recieve any sun exposure.  Over time, the sun has a big impact on the way our skin looks and feels.

The very best way to minimize sun damage is to prevent exposure however, that is not realistic for most. Especially those that live in sunny Southern California and here in Encinitas, CA. Everyday sun exposure adds up quickly and the most affected areas are often your face, hands, and chest.

Thankfully, there are effective ways to improve skin that’s been damaged by the sun. Treatments like IPL lasers, heat and light therapies, and injectables can make a powerful change in the state of your skin.

IPL is an advanced laser technology is used to target your unwanted sun damage and brown spots. The energy delivered causes them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process, revealing clearer, more beautiful-looking skin.

IPL is appropriate for treating age spots, sun damage, and freckles on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, and feet. Patients can expect to see a decrease in the appearance of unwanted pigment in the treated area within 3 to 5 treatments. Very severe or deep pigmentation may require more treatments or a combined therapy approach.

There is generally no downtime associated with IPL treatments and gradual improvement is seen with each session.
