Kind Health Group offers Encinitas, CA women and men numerous nonsurgical procedures for skin rejuvenation. Dysport is an injectable wrinkle relaxer that works similarly to BOTOX to reduce and soften dynamic lines and wrinkles on the face. Dynamic wrinkles are formed by recurrent facial movements and expressions (like smiling, laughing, and frowning) that over time make the facial muscles tight. This causes the overlying skin to have a furrowed line that is visible even when your face is relaxed. Dysport is uniquely designed to address one of the most common dynamic wrinkles: the frown lines that show up as vertical lines between the eyebrows. It temporarily softens the muscle so the dynamic wrinkle is smoother, but with natural-looking results that don't give you a "frozen" face. Ideal Candidates for Dysport
Dysport is ideal if you are looking for a nonsurgical procedure to address moderate to severe vertical frown (glabellar) lines between the eyebrows. Since dynamic wrinkles and lines are caused by frequent use, they can develop at any age and make you look tired, mad, or sad. Dysport is a fast, effective treatment that corrects dynamic wrinkles without giving you a "frozen" face. Since Dysport spreads to treat a cluster of wrinkles, it is also ideal for Crow's feet, the fine lines in the outer corners of the eyes. Most patients at Kind Health Group see visible improvement in their dynamic wrinkles a few days after their injections that on average last up to four months.

Procedure Technique for Dysport
Dysport injections are done in one of our procedure rooms after your consultation, taking about 15 – 30 minutes. A numbing cream or local anesthetic is usually not needed since the injections are made with a fine-gauge needle that causes very little discomfort, but it can be requested. The skin will be thoroughly cleansed and five carefully placed Dysport injections will be administered along the brow, followed by a cold compress to limit swelling and bruising. After your procedure at Kind Health Group, you may resume daily tasks, but you should try to avoid strenuous activities for at least a day.
What to Expect for Dysport
After a Dysport treatment, you may notice mild swelling and redness near the injection sites, but this typically will resolve in a few days. You should sleep upright for the first night and continue to use a cold compress as needed. Results are often seen within a few days as the appearance of your lines is decreased for a smoother, softer appearance. These results typically last for about 3 – 4 months and touch-up treatments can be scheduled at Kind Health Group in Encinitas, CA to maintain your results.
Frequently Asked Questions for Dysport
How much does Dysport cost?
Your cost is based on the amount of Dysport used to achieve your goals. During your consultation, your injector will create your personalized Dysport treatment plan and then estimate your cost. Ask if we have any specials on Dysport at Kind Health Group and the different payment methods we accept.
What's the difference between Dysport and BOTOX?
Both Dysport and BOTOX are injections that correct dynamic facial wrinkles. Results from Dysport usually become visible faster than BOTOX. Also, Dysport has longer-lasting results than other relaxers and it is better for larger areas. During your consult, your injector will help you determine if Dysport or BOTOX is ideal for you.
Should I get Dysport or a wrinkle filler?
Most people don't know the difference between injectable wrinkle relaxers, like Dysport, and dermal fillers. Simply put, a wrinkle relaxer corrects dynamic wrinkles while a dermal filler addresses static wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are the result of repetitive movements, such as laughing, smiling, frowning, and all of your other facial expressions. Dysport relaxes the muscle under the skin for a smoother appearance. Static wrinkles are the result of low skin elasticity, so the injection fills or plumps the skin to make it look smooth. During your initial consultation, your injector will listen to your goals and help you choose whether Dysport, a dermal filler, or a mix of both will produce your best results.
Can Dysport be combined with other treatments?
At Kind Health Group, we offer several cosmetic treatments that can be used to enhance the results of your Dysport injection. Depending on your concerns and goals, your custom treatment plan may include Dysport injections for dynamic wrinkles, an injectable filler for static wrinkles or lip and cheek augmentation, as well as a laser skin treatment. Be honest during your consult so we can develop a treatment plan that delivers amazing results.
How often should I get Dysport injections?
Your Dysport results can be visible for 3 – 4 months. During your consultation, your injector will recommend how often you should schedule appointments at our office in Encinitas, CA to maintain your results. You may get treatments more often or wait longer after you see how long your initial results last.
